Exploring the Mysteries of Shingon Buddhism on Japan’s Koyasan

Koyasan is one of the most holiest places in Japan where Buddhist monks train in the mountains just outside of Osaka. In this short documentary, I tell the town’s history and why you should visit. *This video was made in cooperation with the Wakayama Prefectural Government.

Voices from the Black Lives Matter Tokyo Protest

On June 14, 2020 over 3,000 people marched through the streets of Tokyo in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. I went to the scene to speak with participants about the event and the climate surrounding racial discrimination in Japan.

Sitting Down with Sierra Todd, the Founder of Black Lives Matter Tokyo

Sierra Todd was only eighteen years old when she founded the Black Lives Matter Tokyo chapter and lead over 3,000 people to march in Japan’s capital. In this interview, I spoke with her about how the organization seemingly exploded overnight.
